November might be over, but that doesn't mean our appreciation for retailers is! Today we highlight a well-known shop in Spokane Valley — Sativa Sisters.
Sativa Sisters opened in August 2014 and while they weren't medical before, many of their staff were. Eric Skaar, General Manager, says his favorite things about working in recreational cannabis are the people and the progress. "Everyone comes in here with a smile on their face and leaves with an even bigger one," he said, "also being a part of the changes going on, it's a new industry that constantly grows and progresses."
Sativa Sisters isn't just a cannabis shop, they're also a coffee shop, but this isn't your average cup of joe. Customers can add CBD's to their caramel mochas at an additional cost. i502 rules prohibit the discussion of medical marijuana in rec shops, so Sativa Sisters' coffee shop provides educational resources on medicinal cannabis.
Eric prefers to light up our Cascade Connie outdoors. He says this sweet strain is his favorite strain because of the curb appeal. What better way to wind down from work? "I like to sit outside and smoke joints on my deck," he said, "I only smoke at the end of my day."
While the future of cannabis is uncertain, Eric foresees major changes in the next five to ten years. "A lot is going depend on if it gets de-scheduled," he said, "I think it's going to keep growing, but I couldn't tell you for sure. I'm just along for the ride."
What an exciting ride it is! Swing by Sativa Sisters on East Trent Avenue, and make sure to hit up their Happy Hour from 4:20 to 5:20 PM for delicious discounts.
