Today we're thankful for Cannabis City, Seattle's original cannabis shop. This store rocks, literally, so today we feature them as one of our #RetailersWeLove.
Cannabis City opened July 7, 2014 and is Seattle's first legally operating cannabis store. "We have some artifacts from our grand opening day inducted into the MOHAI Museum's prohibition exhibit," Amber McGowan, General Manager, says, "which is pretty cool."
What caught our eye is Cannabis City's fully functioning guitar piece contracted by Sasquatch Glass. The artist who created this piece is Chihuly trained, which explains the exquisite detail. However, he or she prefers to be unnamed so they aren't shunned by the glass industry or put into the paraphernalia category.
Speaking of stigmas, Amber envisions the future of cannabis stigma free. "I see it being common, used and embraced for more the medicinal properties than its recreational properties," she said, "society will bring to light the plant's benefits."
Cannabis City is located on 4th Avenue South, in Seattle's SODO district. They are open seven days a week, so make sure to check their Facebook for hours of operation and special deals.
